Breakin' News from Maw!
Maw and Granny recently attended the 9th Annual 2003 Quilt Fest in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The quilt fest was at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center.
Maw and Granny headed up there and said, "It was a sight to behold!" There were beautiful quilts there from everywhere. Admission was free and the opportunities to stock up on your quilting stash and patterns were only limited by the size of your purse and maybe Paw. The quilt fest ran March 12 through 16. Gals living in the east Tennessee and surrounding areas thought is was worth the drive. Maw and Granny sure thought so too. There were loads shopping opportunities, classes, food and just good fellowship with other area crafters.
Our thanks to Jane Washington of the Cherry Pit for taking two of Maw's doll pattern designs, Callie and Wendy, to the quilt show. The Cherry Pit was part of the quilt fest and Jane also taught a few of the classes there. Maw says for you quilting and fabric craft enthusiast to get by the Cherry Pit and check out their stash. Maw says they have some of the prettiest and most unusual fabric she has ever seen and tons of quilting and sewing supplies, patterns and books. Maw says the Cherry Pit is a sight to see. They have all sorts of quilts and fabric crafts on display with all the patterns to make them. Jane also teaches quilting classes in her shop.
